Is an upset possible? Don’t ask the pollsters

Upset? It has happened before.

Hillary Clinton appears to be on her way to becoming the next president of the United States–if we can believe the polls.

The RealClear Politics average of polls shows Hillary with a 5 point lead over Donald Trump. It that’s accurate, she will cruise to a comfortable victory and there should be no talk about challenging the outcome of the election.

But as anybody who looks at polls knows, you can find one to validate practically any belief you have. Many of these pollsters are going to have a lot of explaining to do when the final votes are tallied.

If these guys fell under the authority of federal regulators, they’d be subjected to regular product recalls when they weren’t being sued for making false claims. ¬†Believe them at your own peril.

Headed out to Seaman’s Lodge to vote for Trump. Ahh, feels so good to vote against the status quo!

    President Trump

  3. The pollsters blew it again. Either they didn’t survey the right people, or the Trump supporters they questioned refused to talk them or just lied.

The mainstream media followed right along. They judged Trump’s campaign by the generally accepted standards, and didn’t make an effort to find out how deep The Donald’s support really was. If there is one lesson the media should take away from this, it’s that you should ignore the polls and political stereotypes.

No that is not my takeaway. The media do their own polls and then report on them as news. I was always curious about that. But if you read the underlying weighting you can see why they are all off. Sometimes ten to 12 percent more democrats and less than the average of actual R turnouts from the past. So for some reason they think they will get accurate results. But I have alerted them many times to their folly and they tell me to pound sand. Arrogant they are as Yoda would muse.

This is very historic to me. Trump knew the news people would give him all the free stuff since they are no better than a Jerry Springer mentality. So funny!
