–It’s hard to believe that so many people bought into Donald Trump’s voter fraud fantasy without any proof that would hold up in a court of law. The Republican Party is becoming the Jonestown of politics.
–Why do I have the impression that California public health officials are just winging it when it comes to establishing restrictions on people to combat the coronavirus pandemic. They backed down on letting kids use play grounds, and they’ve yet to show the danger of eating outside.
–That was sound advice Jerry Brown gave progressives who are upset with Joe Biden’s personnel selections: “Get a good joint and just chill.”
–Gov. Gavin Newson is becoming increasingly clueless. First, he eats with a crowd at an expensive restaurant, and then he hires a big-time lobbyist as one of his aides.
–In all of the coverage I saw about the sale of Bob Dylan’s song catalogue for a reported $300 million, not one story used the following headline: “I ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s farm no more.”
–The Wall Street Journal’s op-ed piece suggesting Jill Biden drop the honorific “Dr.” was a cheap shot unbecoming a serious newspaper that wants people to take it seriously. Editorial page editor Paul Gigot made a rare appearance on the page to whine about the Biden camp’s reaction to the piece. Paul, if you can’t take it, don’t dish it out.
As much as I don’t trust the Democrats, they have at least spared us from any further idiocy from the traitorous secessionist Trumpublickens, for the moment anyway.
I think we can look forward to the Republican version of the Resistance. Most of the Trumpies are already convinced Biden is an illegitimate president because he benefited from a rigged election. Elected Republicans will be expected to act accordingly if they want to get reelected.
